Got comcast, now need to return RCN Cable box

I got comcast and cancelled my RCN Cable. Now they are asking me to return the cable box. Have any one returned theirs before? The sales person at RCN was not very clear at where I can return it and was eager to get off the phone quickly.

call customer service again and ask them. If you do not return the box, you WILL be charged fo rit. usually you only have a grace period of about 2 weeks or so to return it.
Obtain a receipt that you have indeed returned it

you can try looking for a local office. Or you could call them and ask them to send you a box

I called them to cancel and the customer service person said that the boxes were obsolete and could I please dispose of them (no need to return).

I don't think they will charge me for it later; they have sent me an account closure invoice and a check for the excess I had paid to them.
