Rent Increase?

hi
wanted to know if there is rent increase in the buildings you are currently living in. I had caled the newport rental office yesterday and came to knwo that they have increased my rent by $100/month. It may not be a huge amount of money for some, but sure is for me. I have a 1 Bed apt at the Lincoln. Just wanted to know if you guys are aware of any rent increase or is just they are picking on random tenants?

Are talking about an increase to renew a lease? I got between 3-5% increase to renew. I've never heard of increase midterm, that's not what you agreed to when you signed the lease.

My lease renewal was jacked up 10%. Apparently rent laws do not apply to Newport because of the tax abatement arrangement. :mad:

I thought they can only increase once the lease is up. They send you a letter if you want to renew stating the new prices for 1 and 2 year leases.

My lease went up about 5%-6% when I renewed a month or so back.
