I saw a notice in the John Adams (I live here) that the John Adams was burglarized twice recently and the George Washington three times.

Why were us tenants not made aware of this sooner?

Thankfully someone was kind enough to put up some signs making us realize this.

Does this happen often?

The screwed up thing is hte signs were taken down 30 mins after i saw them...and the door men are kinda lax...

Last year, James Monroe was burglarized. It was just not a unit, but several units.

All I saw was that someone (most likely a tenant) put notices up on my floor becuase they were burglarized. They called the police and followed up, and the police told them it had happened twice recently in JA and three times in GW. I'm not surprised at all, mainly becuase the JA's door men are pretty lax. They are nice guys all of them--but maybe a little too nice. Half the time the maintenance people are sitting at the desks.

Not to worry,

I've been here quite a while and it's pretty safe. And my compliments to this joint are always grudging.
I've never personally heard of anyone who was burglarized...maybe 5 rumors. But in nearly 2 decades and 3000 apartments, that's pretty small potatoes.

But DO douuble lock your doors when you leave!:D

Yeah I've lived here a month and I think it's a great place to live. Just thought I'd let people know, especially since it seemed to me the building was trying to cover it up. There's a fine line to walk between being informational and scaring people.

How are alleged burglaries occurring? Right through the front door?
