Hello All,
Especially those who are parents/new parents, Can you please suggest any parenting (for new parents) group in newport or in yahoo groups etc.
I am a new father and am going thru a new era of life and want to be part of such groups where I can find similar people.
Thanks in advance. And Happy Parenting...:)

Do you know about urbanbaby? That was what I used last year. http://www.urbanbaby.com
Besides that, I subscribe to emails from American baby and that helps me keep up with the development of my daughter

just found this website. i'm thinking about attending the music classes with my baby. i think the tuition is $170 plus some first time registration fee and it starts in april through june. i saw that they have a location in newport and hoboken. anyone attended these classes before? i'm looking for some activities i could do with my 11 mth old. around this area.

I know someone who took their baby to these classes last year. she thought it was good, though the baby always had some health issues because she was surrounded by too many babies ( hence infections ). My DD was about 3 mo, and I thought it would be quite a waste of time. She just enjoyed the music I plaed at home, and now she loves music ( I think every baby does ).
I would suggest swimming as good fun in summers. I would take my DD to the Avalon pool, since I am in Avalon. I don't know how clean the health and fitness club pool is. I am sure that sort of an activity would be cool.

lostinlamancha. thanks. i guess i'm going to try and register her for this "semester" if i can! i tried talking to someone.. the girl was a little rude. i called again b/c the call didn't go through, she clarified not so politely again that there are only 2 people there to answer calls so leave a message and they WILL get back to me. well, left a message this morning. no one has called me back! i mean how busy can they be?! we'll see.. my daughter seems to be going crazy stuck inside.. all the dvd's sesame street, blues clues.. she's losing interest in all her toys and tv.. hopefully, they will call back and sway me the right way. i'd hate to have to deal with stuck up folks. i don't know of any other place like this.. that's why i'm sticking it out with them...
