One bedroom apartment available in South Hampton by Aug/Sep 2005. Nice open kitchen with breakfast bar. Lease expires on Sep 2006.

The apartment is on a low-floor, with partial view of the water and midtown Manhattan.

Current rent is less than $1500. You can sign a lease with management. We're trying to stay away from sublets since it can be a hassle.

The apt bldg has 24 hour doorman, is a stone's throw away from the NY Waterway ferry, PATH, there is a laundry room on the same floor, you'll be close to restaurants in the neighborhood, etc.

In Newport, you pay $160 to park in one of the designated garage.

I pay $175 to park in the attached Marbella garage.

How far away from the SH would I have to park? Is there a valet service available?

What floor are you on? Can I see it this weekend?

i wasn't able to check the bulletin board over the weekend.

but yes, there is parking at the garage next to duane reade. i think it's now more than $160 since there was an increase a few months ago.

southhampton (the one with the experience spa/salon on the street level) is right next to the playground that is next to the garage.

i'm on the 2nd floor - that's why it's 'cheap' compared to the others. and i might leave by mid-july. the apt should definitely be available by august.

wishiwas, i hardly get online on weekends, sorry for the delay.

i'm not ready to show the apartment since it's been crazy the past few weeks and instead of putting away the winter clothes, i have them all out (among other things), ready to be packed.

let me be fair in warning you that my apartment faces the playground. i have read posts about complaints re:playground high decibel. personally, i have no problem since i keep my windows shut. i hear the shrieks during the day but i have no problems at night. maybe because i have the tv by the window?

i haven't talked to the management or the rental office about how soon they can have the apt ready for the next occupant after i leave. i'll ask sonia who the best person to talk to. when i broached the subject to the someone in the management office, they had the usual hands-off attitude.

i'm interested as well but a bit confused... does your lease end in sept? and will the new tenant have to sign a new lease with management? if so, will it still be under $1,500?

my lease ends in aug 2006 but i opt not to do a sublet even if i plan to leave sometime in mid-july. i think the apartment will be rented out soon after i leave.

i have yet to call the rental office to inquire about the new rent - i'm not sure if it will still be $1500, though.

hemant, as i've posted earlier, i'm not ready to show the apt because of my mess. :(

but i was finally able to call vienna/cynthia and was shocked to find out that the current market price for my apt is $1650! i can't believe it!
