The apartment is sunny, south facing with a view of the water and lower Manhattan. All the standard Newport Amenities - 24 hour doorman, laundry room on the same floor, 2 minutes to the PATH, etc.

The rent is a low $1690/month (current market rate $1,800) and our lease expires Oct’06. You could either sign a fresh one year lease or sub-let the apartment.

We’re moving out end of March. The Apartment is available from 1st April.

Is the current market rent decided based on the square footage? What is the square footage of your apartment? Did the management give you those numbers?

It is not just the sqft of the apartment. It also depends on the views, and the layout of the apartment. Of course, high floor is more expensive than lower floors as well.

If you are curious about the sqft., ask the rental office. They will provide you with the info of actual aqft and the floor plan. As far as I know, usual one bedroom in ToA is around 900 sqft.
