Am I the only one round here thinks Arsenal are going to win the European Championship this season?
Am I the only one who cares?
More to the point, does anyone know when any British or European football games get shown on DirecTV? Even in highlight.

Nic, see you in Istanbul.
Actually Comcast has just added Fox Sports World so soon we will be able to see all the games without having to go to Mulligans. I've seen the Arsenal games so far and they have been absolutely awesome.

You're on the wrong side of pond my friend.
Seriously though, before I was able to watch EPL highlights and UEFA champions league on ESPN2. I think it was last season I was able to see these, but this season for some reason I can't. They move around the time slot so much so that it becomes a guessing game when they will be on...

EPL highlights are on every Sunday on MSG(24) and Fox Sports New York(22). Last season it was 10pm every week on FSNY. This season it has been on at 10:30pm on MSG.
But I leave it up to TivO to make sure I get it.

they usually show the quarters, etc. on pay-per-view which of course is a bummer, but better than nothing... have they upgraded their commentators yet? there's nothing i love better than inept football commentaries. of course, back in the motherland all the commentators are constantly drunk so that provides for additional excitement, kind of like with boxing on hbo... :)
oh, yeah, the cup's definitely ours this year ;)

Well, what about inept managers? I love these quotes from Sir Bobby:
We didn't underestimate them, they were a lot better than we thought.
All right, Bellamy came on at Liverpool and did well, but everybody thinks that he's the saviour, he's Jesus Christ. He's not Jesus Christ.
We don't want our players to be monks, we want them to be better football players because a monk doesn't play football at this level.
I do want to play the short ball and I do want to play the long ball. I think long and short balls is what football is all about.
I played cricket for my local village. It was 40 overs per side, and the team that had the most runs won. It was that sort of football.
I said to the lads in the dressing room at half time, I said, there was nothing to say.
They're two points behind us, so we're neck and neck.
Well, we got nine and you can't score more than that.
He never fails to hit the target, but that was a miss.
There will be a game where somebody scores more than Brazil and that will be the game they lose.
He's very fast and if he gets a yard ahead of himself, nobody will catch him.
The first 90 minutes of a football match are the most important.
Dennis Law once kicked me at Wembley in front of the Queen in an international. I mean, no man is entitled to do that really.

I know Real Networks has a channel which you need to subscribe that gives you video highlights/updates etc.
http://www.uefa.com/video/landingpage.html
Also have you tried WinAmp, they have a video section now that lets you stream content from users. I use it to watch cricket highlights, though the british thumping the indians @ Trent Bridge is not something I took great pleasure in watching..:).
Sir Bobby, the Yogi Berra of soccer :D , made my day. Thanks Newbie.
Do you know if Dorrians shows any soccer games? If so, who wants to meet up...

There's a pub on Brunswick St a few blocks behind Newport called the White Star that is meant to show Premiership games. The owner is a Brit apparently. Maybe organise a visit there next time Arsenal are being screened?

I heard about that bar. I've not checked it out yet though.
So, where are we watching England tomorrow? The biggest England crowd around here will be at Mulligans. That's where most of us watched the Euros. COME ON ENGLAND!
