Tomorrow is the Newport Farmer's Market. Does anyone buy stuff from there?
I once bought apple donuts, which were pretty good (but not fantabulous).
I noticed that the produce prices were a lot higher than the supermarket and the fruit just didn't look as good (at 6:30pm when I pass through, anyway).
So besides supporting local farmers (which is a good reason!), what other reasons are there to spend extra money on sub-quality fruit?
What do you buy there?

Its convienient would be another reason, though not mine. I'm cheap. Look at the Babo thread on the other forum

Thrifty, perhaps, would be a better word? Or a seeker of value for money? I'm sure you're not cheap.

Nic, I've been meaning to ask...how's your new car? I haven't seen any shiny new SUVs in the Marbella parking garage (not that I am stalking or anything!).

It's on the lower level mezzanine when it's not on the streets or at work. It's cool, I like it a lot. Although already some tosser has opened the door on my passenger door and created a teeny dent, and somebody has scraped the front bumper - and I haven't even got Jersey plates yet!

It's nice to have the Farmer's Market. I usually buy something there once a week. Usually greens and some fruit. I like the cornbread and banana nut bread from time to time. I will say that the girl and one of the older guys are nice and says thank you. The skinny older guy with the mustache isn't friendly at all. Dude better realize that he better be nice to the locals if he wants to continue to have customers. I'm a firm believer in good customer services...ESPECIALLY if you're a small business owner...because that's all you really have.

I feel your pain brother :( . Dings even before the plates are on.

Nic,
I bought my current car in 2000 and I remember how agonizing it was to deal with bad parallel parkers and other drivers in general. Every scratch and scrape caused heartache.
These days, I don't even blink twice.
My car is now 6 years old (I bought is used while in school) and while I could afford a much nicer vehicle now, I don't want something too nice while living/parking in the city. I decided that when my car dies (and I hope there are at least 4 years left to it's life!), I will buy another used car if I am still in this area.
Don't you have a Marbella parking spot yet???

We buy fresh vegtables there every week, they have great tomatoes, corn and zuchinni -- just to mention a few. Best to get there early in the day, around lunchtime. ;)

I am lucky if I make it back from Manhattan before 7pm. Anyone want to buy my produce? ;)
