Suggestions for Our New Homepage

What would you like to see on the new homepage? We're open to your ideas and comments. So, please lend us your insight for this new endeavor.

Would be helpful to have a directory of Newport phone numbers, food delivery directory, also a section where you could upload scans of delivery menus.

We have something like this in the mainsite, not sure if they're up-to-date or not. I think an updated mainsite would be a good solution.

We have a calendar where we can enter any event we like. Other than automatic birthdays, and holidays, I haven't seen much posted on the calendar. Maybe, not too many residents realize it's there.

Thanks for the reminder. I am aware of the calendar feature in the forum. But it doesn't seem to be updated frequently. For instance, Chili's opening and 01/28 - 02/04 Newport Restaurant Week are not listed on the calender. It'd be nice if NWA could put the most recent and up-coming events on the main page. :)

The admins on this board are not always aware of what events are taking place in the area, or they may overlook something. As members of this board, we can all help out by posting events on the calendar that we think everyone should be reminded of. :)

I guess some RSS newsfeeds from relevant local sites would be good - NYT, WSJ perhaps, Star & Ledger if they provide them. And weather. Links to Newark airport site, NJ Transit, local restaurants, cab firms etc would be useful. Opening hours of local stores too. Ferry timetables.

There are also so many useful things posted on the BB it would be nice to have a faq of the best of them, or maybe have something like Amazon does for their products, where people can feedback their opinions on local restaurants or services.

Feedback would be an excellent idea. We could devote a forum to restaurants and services, and use individual threads for individual places, with polls and/or thread ratings to rate satisfaction.
