Hello,
We moved to Newport (Pacific Bldg) neighborhood recently.
We want to visit Statue Of Liberty and surrounding places.
Please tell me the best way to do so.
Also let me know what all to cover in the Liberty Statue trip.
thanks in advance.

take the HBLR to Liberty state park. And then take the bus. check the timings of the bus. They are seasonal, and do not run all the time. Or for about 10 bucks, you can get a cab to Liberty state park ( no bus needed). From the park, you can take the ferry to statue of liberty. Its a fun trip. I walked the whole 2.2 mile Freedom way.

Also, they have crazy security including metal detectors. I had my leatherman (which is a relatively large pocketknife and other tools) in my pocket. They ended up letting me through with it saying not to take it out of my pocket, but had I known I was going to come across that kind of security I wouldn't have brought it...

Thanks friends. I hope we will make it to Liberty Statue very soon.
Step1: Light Rail to Liberty state park
Step2: Ferry from Liberty state park to Liberty Statue.
Any inputs on what else around Statue can I cover in this trip.

You can visit the Ellis Island.
If you have time and kids, you can also visit the Science Museum in Liberty State Park. However, I don't recommend the museum too much because it was rather small, and exhibition was not intriguing to me. Maybe, I went to too many nice science museums.. ;)
