Regular and moderate consumption of wine

...lowers the risk of cardiac arrest and supports the flexibility of the vascular system, because wine stimulates the blood circulation in general and especially within the heart, lowers the cholesterol level and reduces the risk of thrombosis.

...supports the digestive system, because enjoying wine during meals stimulates the glands, supports the function of gastric acids, stimulates the intestines and thus increases the intake of valuable vitamines and minerals. Appetite is increased, the sense of taste is enhanced.

...decontaminates the entire body, because the kidney activity and therefore the urinal flow is increased, washing out waste substances and toxins.

...supports the resistance against diseases, as wine reduces the viability of bacteria and viruses and strengthes the immune system.

...efficiently combats diarrhoea, as wine has an excellent detoxicating effect.

...decelerates decalcification of the bones, thus preventing osteoporosis, especially affecting women.

...is a "biological regeneration" after physical exertion, because even small amounts of wine replace valuable minerals, refreshing and relaxing.

...maintains physical and mental activity, as the age-related decrease in mental capacity is decelerated and the supply of blood and oxygen to the brain is increased.

...can stimulate creativity and phantasy, proven by many artists and outstanding individuals of history.

...has a relaxing effect and reduces stress.

...increases life expectancy, as wine contains natural antioxidants. The cellular degeneration is decelerated and the mortality rate of cancer decreased.

*This is phase one execution of my 2005 New Year's resolution, I am attempting to cut back on the lager this year, as I have developed a tiny pop belly. So I bought my first case of wine this year as opposed the regular case of Sam Adams. I got a 15% discount on the case which I enjoyed, never got a discount on a case of Sam, Warsteiner, or Harp so I'm happier now.

:)

I've heard that the best way to get rid of a habit is to trade out for another better habit and so now I can be healthy & numb, pop belly free. Cheers! 2005

:D

Wow, I never realize so many advantages of consuming wine. In winter I drink red and summer white. Shop Rite Liquor store gives 10% discount for a crate of any of your choice, so good deal. ;)

Eriic, you forgot to add "Makes you tipsy", "makes members of the other sex look more attractive" and "makes your jokes sound even funnier".

I went to Newport Spirits adjacent to the JP Morgan Chase building. The gentleman offered me 15% off a case of Beringer Napa Valley Merlot. ;)

I don't know if white wine has the same health benefits as red wine does, however, if you want to try something sweet in red for the summer then try a bottle of Shiraz (anything priced over $9.99 is adequate). I think you'd enjoy that in replacement of the white wine. :D

Shopright Liquor is one of the few places that I can find Pete's Wicked Ale, I shop there too. I also shop Hoboken Beer & Soda Outlet, they special order what they don't have for you. In fact, when I'm all wined out I plan to order a case of Kronenberg lager next, I can't seem to find it anywhere anymore.

LOL. :D That's funny Nic. That's not far from the truth at all.

*Between, you, I, & everyone on this chat board, I always said that enough alcohol will give you a bad case of the f*ckits. The f*ckits is the name I've created for the behavior that ensues a few drinks.

I don't know about you but I go through a few changes with enough glasses of some good stuff. The daring Lt. Trysomethingnew, Mr. Brutallyhonest, & Dr. Iwanttofixyourproblems. Now, under a normal circumstance I'm quiet, routine, & pretty on the surface when people speak of their issues. So after a few drinks I figure "f*ckit" why not Try It, Tell It like it is, & Go In To Depth to no end for the sake of being a good listener. Yep, those are the f*ckits. :D

If you love wine, Eric, you can make your own wine even in Jersey City. I visited a winery school near Journal Square last month. They buy grapes from California and you can make your own wine. I would not say those are the best wine I've ever tasted before. However, it is kind of fun to learn how to make your own wine, and the price is pretty affordable than I thought. Oh, the school people do all the hard work for you; so that's a plus, I think... ;)

That sounds interesting ... making my own wine. Hhmm I wonder how much money I can save from making my own wine in lieu of buying from Shop Rite liquor store :p

LOL, you know that's funny. When you said that I could make my own wine I couldn't help but think of an episode of "I Love Lucy" where Lucille Ball was mashing grapes with her bare feet while wrestling some other woman in this huge wooden enclosure. I think the objective was to mash grapes for wine if I'm not mistaken. That was a funny episode. Ahhh, good times.
