For those who may be interested in venturing beyond Newport and into Jersey City, I invite you to check out Marco and Pepe.

If you take the PATH to Grove Street, Marco & Pepe is located on Grove Street on the corner (I think Mercert Street) right across the street from City Hall. Unfortunately the e-mail I got did not have an exact address. I am not going to say they are great but it is one of the neighborhood restaurants in Jersey City were a very diverse and hip crowd hangs out.

Get's my vote too. Up there with the Hard Grove Cafe and that place at the top of 3rd St. yes it is on Mercer St, it doesn't seem to have its name posted outside though. Incidentally do you know of any off-licences or bottle shops in the vicinity og grove St PATH station?

I thought that French Restaurant on Brunswick was Claude Michelle (or something like taht)? Anyway, whatever its name, it is a great place. The place is usually packed which isn't hard since it is a tiny space. There is also a Thai place on Sussex that I've been meaning to check out.

Mine too...great place, good food. Hoboken has many places to eat, but I have always been disappointed. JC has a few places that are GOOD.

Try Court Street, 6th between Washington and Hudson. Good food - they have a website, their menu is huge!

Yup. I enjoyed that one. Though the last time I was there, they had some different fare from the menu on the website. I have also enjoyed Sri Thai a lot.

Sri Thai is the best Thai food in the area. If you like Thai food, you should try Yum Yum Bangkok on 45th st and 9th ave. Its really inexpensive and really really good food. I love the Pad Ke Maow [Spicy Basil Noodles]..

I'd rather stay away from a restaurant, which calls itself "yum yum.. something" and is situated near Times Square. Walk about 9 blocks up on Times Square, and you'll see Won Dee Siam. Walk to 56th and 7th and you'll see Topaz.
