I just uploaded over 700 avatar images to the vBulletin directories, under 2 categories - "South Park Characters" & "Video Game Characters" - check them out!

I will be adding a lot more avatars in the next few days - so keep checking!

Just uploaded a few of the characters from The Simpsons - will upload a few more over the next few days. In fact, I liked the Homer avatar SO much, that I quickly changed mine to him - looks pretty good!

I have a userpic uploaded but it doesn't show up as an avatar. What am I doing wrong? Under EDIT AVATAR, I only have radio-buttons for NO AVATAR or one of the pre-defined ones, not a custom avatar.

Hi Stinky,

Use the drop down window to go to your control panel, then go to "Edit Avatars", underneath the predefined avatars, you should find a button that you can fill in for custom avatars. If you still have a problem, let Prashant know.

The ability to upload and add their own custom avatar images is only available to Administrators, not to general members.

why should that be? As long as the avatar is not offensive, it should be ok to upload your own avatar

The definition of :confused: 'offensive' is relative.

Some would say that even my avatar is offensive.

I do think it's a little ridiculous that only admins can upload their own custom avatars.

Will you consider enabling that option for all of us, Prashant?

Being offensive has nothing at all to do with your ability to upload your custom avatar images!

I just don't see an option in the vBulletin Admin options page to enable such a feature. I did go through their help page for Avatars, and it does indeed show such an option there on the Avatars options page - however, I don't see that option on my version of the page.

Maybe its dependent on some other option that I may have set on another Admin page. I'll try opening a ticket with vBulletin support tomorrow, to see if they can provide a solution to this problem.

Well, everybody is a Junior Member to begin with - after they post a certain number of messages on this Board (default = 50), their title changes to a Member, and after a 100 posts, they become a Senior Member - we may be altering the "mimimum post" requirements in the near future, or may be adding more categories based on the number of posts a person has made.
