I was reading this article and it brought back memories of when I was a kid. I used to play board games to no end... Monopoly, Candyland, Shoot & Ladders, & my personal favorite Scrabble.

I'll leave the article here if your interested...

Does anyone else miss these games like I do?

Do I miss these board games? I still do play these games.. :D

The only difference with playing when I was young and now is that I get to buy all fancy collector's editions which able me to have more fake money & wooden houses for Monopoly, lazy-susan style Scrabbles, Simpson's character pieces for Clue....

Recently, I bought Cranium and it is a very interesting game. I love it.. :)

Yeah, but where to we find the time to break out some of the real classics like Axis and Allies?

As NWA members, we should have a board game club or something... a regular gathering for Newport residents to play board games! :D

I'm with Zipbow. That's not a bad idea at all. How about a chess club? ;)

Good idea. Board games are more fun with more people. Besides, Cranium require minimum 4 people to play it, so it would be nice to have more people.. :)

That's not bad either! Except that I'll make a fool of myself playing it. :(
Haven't touched chess for 4+ years...

So what board games do we have here? I left all mine with my friends.
And if we do form a "club," where would be a nice place to meet?

There used to be a chess club at Starbacks on Friday nights a couple of years ago. With winter fast approaching, maybe we should resurrect it?
