Hello. I need a moving company recommendation from you. Would you share your experience with the moving company and some tips for moving please? Price quote would be very nice as well.

Also, I have a question: I see lots of moving trucks of Chinese or Korean moving company in the courtyard. What about them? Are they recommendable? I don't care the ethnicity of the moving company as long as they are reliable and offer a low price. Thanks for your help.. :)

I used Moishe's. They sent 3 guys who did a fairly meticulous job wrapping all of the furniture in blankets. I thought their price was very reasonable.

It is important to give them a very detailed list of every item you need moved, especially items that will require special handling, such as TVs, computer monitors, floor lamps, large mirrors, etc. in order to avoid any add-on fees. We did not have any surprises since we had a very comprehensive list.

Cool. Thanks. Would you tell me around how much they charged you?

I use JM Moving Co...

These are some hard working and fast moving spanish guys. They walk in your apartment with intensity & focus and they get the job done so fast you won't know what hit your place. These guys have plenty of experience and they work like they have a supervisor hovering over them.

They send a guy to do an estimate first, then you get a block of when they'll send a truck to get the furniture (usually 2pm-7pm). I think they also do deliveries for furniture stores, that's why you get a block instead of an exact time.

Here's the info...

* You may want to ask for Avis. She speaks English well. ;)

I'm sure they won't lock your account after you leave.
You can always bring your yellow spidey back anytime and kill some dogs/snails/turtles... :D

haven't had the chance to read everyone's responses.. but just a quick reply, DO NOT USE whiteglove. They made humongous scratches on our new HARDLY sued dining table and side table... and our couches are all scratched. They charged up $490 total for 5 hours. And we even tipped the guys $40. We only got reimbursed $90 for our $1000 dining table and everything.. this was b/c we didn't keep the receipts.. WHO KEEPS their receipts for years?

You only paid $490 for moving services? That is dirt cheap!

is that really cheap? well, now that i think about it.. that WAS the cheapest after calling several places straight from the yellow pages.. that's why i used them. However, look at the quality of service they provided! I would never use them again. i forgot another thing, they DRAGGED, i repeat, "dragged" our 1 year old mattress.. it is so dirty and looks old now. anyway, nxt time we move, we're thinking about trying a korean moving company.. you see so many korean moving companies b/c of the close by fort lee area.. which is like "koreatown."

The phone number is 201-653-1808.
The name is Catlow furniture Movers, 704 Summit ave Jersey City.
They will come and give you an estimate for minimun and maximin price. So, no hidden charges. I tipped 20 per person. Also, the whole move took about 5 hours pick up and delivery.

Don't be sad. I don't know my moving dates yet.. So I will be in Newport for a while and even after I move, I'll be around on the Newport board to chat with these nice people on the board, like you. Even if I feel lazy to log-in sometimes, I'll come back for you.. ;)

OK, Bonacera, if you promise to visit, then I won't selfishly try to hold you back from greener pastures. But I will miss your very positive presence.

It's weird, though, isn't it? I could bump into you on the PATH train and not even realize it's you.

Hmm...I best not have any "conversations" with Towely while I'm in this abstract frame of mind. ;)
