Dear parents,
We are happy to bring to our community a Unique New Year Celebration Event on Saturday, January 24, 2008. We were able to organize a Chinese puppet show by the internationally acclaimed Company “Chinese Theatre Works” http://www.chinesetheatreworks.org/ at an affordable price. This company has performed nationally and internationally in famous theatres, institutions, and schools such as locally the Metropolitan Museum, NYU, Columbia University, and many more. They have received numerous national and international awards in the United States, China, the rest of Asia, and Europe.
They will perform for us a traditional Children’s Chinese Puppet show based on three famous traditional Chinese stories for young children. They will also share with your children the art of puppetry, and a Beijing Opera clown actor will share his art! Your children will have a lot of fun while being initiated to the Chinese culture by top performers.
More traditional fun activities will be combined with the puppet show. Children will take part in art and crafts, singing New Year songs, finding out their animal signs in the Chinese Zodiac, and much more. They will also get gifts after the games and light snacks will be available.
Where: Hudson Athletic Club, 130 Washington Street, Hoboken
When: Saturday, January 24 from 4 pm to 5:30 pm / 6 pm
Price: $15 for one child, $25 for two children. Accompanying adults get in for free.
Seating is limited. You can reserve your seat now by answering this email.
In order to get the spirit of the event, please try to wear something red when you come to the event!
