Here's a protein shake that's great for breakfast, or a snack. We usually have it in the morning because it's fast to make:
Whey Shakes: You can buy Whey protein in powder form in almost every health food store. It comes in different flavors, and there are many brands. We prefer Solgar's, Natural Vanilla Bean Flavor, from the Vitamin Shop (all over Manhattan, and in Edgewater).
The Shake:
1/2 cup orange or apple juice into the blender
1 scoop of whey powder
Several of your favorite fruits in small portions. We use a handful of both strawberries and raspberries, chunks of fresh pineapple (pre-cut by the A & P), half a banana, and sometimes mango.
2 packets equal
4 or 5 ice cubes.
Blend to your desired consistency, and pour into tall glasses. Garnish with fresh fruit, and serve with a straw. Great way to start the day!
