On Friday, April 4th Senator Bob Menendez is sponsoring the 11th Annual Evening at the Races at the Meadowlands racetrack. For $500 per person, we get cocktails and dinner as well as the races from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM. This sounds like a nice event, if you like to watch horse racing. Me? I love horses, and as a girl, growing up in Long Island and Puerto Rico, I used to ride bareback, English and Western, preferring a smooth canter to a bumpy gallop. But in my later years, I prefer to look and pet these beautiful creatures.

At least this fundraiser gives you something in return for your money. I find the older I get, the more selective I become in donating money. You probably feel the same way. If you'd like more information, presumably about the Senator as well as the races, please call 201-271-1661.

We hope to see some of you at this event Friday night. We hear it's worth attending, lots of fun, plenty of networking, and you may meet a personality or two. See you at the races!

For those of you who haven't been to the Meadowland racetrack, you should go at least once. The Pegasus restaurant/clubhouse is very nice, and you can watch the races from inside. I bet $100 on a horse that paid $39 to $1, and won! Call it beginner's luck, but it was exciting.

The ticket to the event included everything, drinks, buffet dinner with about six entries, salads and dessert, and Valet parking. Both Senator Menendez, and Governor Corzine were there greeting folks, in addition to a bunch of other politicians. If you missed it this year, there's always next year, but even if you don't get out to political events, you ought to plan a visit to the Meadowland race track. It's truly worth seeing; and, try your luck. Bets start at $1.00. ;)

Is there an admissions fee? How much?
