Found from another site. My understanding is that this will be a rental building going up to the north and slightly east of the Shore Club North Tower, essentially east of the PATH substation in the northeast quadrant. Anyone else have additional info?

The Planning Board gave early approval Tuesday for several site plans for large-scale projects, but the developers will have to return to the board later for the final go-ahead. The projects include the 32-story "Aqua" residential tower, part of the Newport section of town.

The 32-story Aqua will have 363 residential units, 15,348 square feet of retail, and 291 parking spaces. There will be 20 studio apartments, 169 one-bedrooms, 161 two-bedrooms, and 13 three-bedrooms. The entire space will be 490,063 square feet.

The project will be built by Newport Associates Development Company as part of Newport's commitment to building on the Northeast Quadrant near the Jersey City-Hoboken border.

I hope AQUA doesn't refer to its color (which Shore Club seems to be becoming.)

Or its plumbing problems :D:D!

I wonder if Lefrak plans on adding even a foot to its Waterfront Walkway requirement before the Aqua is filled to capacity or will they wait until the next 5 are designed, approved, and sold before the first brick is laid?

This thing sounds like it will all but abut the Walkway (possibly leading to a shutdown of the Walkway during construction due to danger of falling objects in this hyberbaric wind-tunnel known as "Newport"). :Tara.hail Jeesh I just wish they'd get the Walkway done before fiddling with other things. I just wanna take leisurely strolls to Pier A and back-- on the way there, nod at Hoboken kids walking south to the mall; on the way back, nod at fellow Newporters sauntering off to Hoboken for some bar blues or movies under the stars... I just hope the powers that be understand how vital this is to "quality-of-life" around here and stand prepared to tweak even building construction schedules if they threaten to delay the Walkway...

And what is the likelihood of that?

Precisely ZERO!
