I received the bill for silver package cable tv for 90 and internet for another 43, totalling 133.

What's the deal for direct tv now? Shall we switch to direct tv?

Thanks.

You are so right! Opening that bill was a shocker. I guess I will drop Showtime, HBO, etc. Even at that it will not be cheap. Still It's a hell of a lot better than RCN.

I received a phone call today, informing me that the promotion is ending on Apr 18 and that y HBO/Showtime package will go up to $95 from $50.

If I understand it correctly then, the minimum level of Comcast service is $42 month after the promos and without any boxes on any TV's with no HBO, SHO, MAX etc.

Does that sound about right for their BASIC?

Does anyone have the BASIC? How is it?

Backing up a bit: THat GOLD package was free service for 2 months and then $50 ($40 for SILVER) for the next 10 months? What's with this April "end of promotion" nonsense?

Does anyone have the BASIC? How is it?If you have a TV or VCR plugged in without a cable box then that's what you are getting. Just plug in a TV and try it. Doesn't seem too bad, some multipath on channel 2 but otherwise ok.

What's with this April "end of promotion" nonsense? For those of us who signed up last April the deal is ending this month (two free months and ten discounted months). With the end of the promotion period we'll have to pay list or change service.

I think you should check their web site for the seasonal promotions, I signed up in Nov. when the buildings were in the proccess of being wired. It turned out to be a good deal: Silver package+HBO+SHO Time,+Movie Channel first 2 months free then $40 a month for the next ten months, I'll probably switch to DirectTV this coming Nov.

Stinky,

Thanks for that BASIC price correction...it's what I'll do after my PROMO ends (a LONG time from now.)

On the "signed up in April"...I didn't think they even had the place wired for Comcast til Fall '05...was it really available to tenants as early as last April????

Sure was .. and in some cases earlier than that too ... depends on which building you live in I guess. They didn't all get wired at the same time. So we got it before some of the others.
