We would like to congratulate the Lefrak organization for the amazing job they've done in constructing the Newport area of Jersey City, making Sam Lefrak's vision of our neighborhood a reality. Most of us who get to enjoy Newport on a daily basis often take for granted the truly comfortable, secure and gracious environment that surrounds us. So, on behalf of the members of the Newport Waterfront Association, and all Newport residents, we would like to thank the Lefrak organization, Richard, Jamie, and Harrison, as well as Marcy, Fermin, and all their staff for making Newport a fabulous place to call home!!

Happy 20th Anniversary Newport

Perhaps they should be thanking us for supporting them for 2 decades?

I agree. I haven't seen ONE thing lefrak is doing to the residents. It's all about how great they are. Why do I want to celebrate that?

I'm curious ... are you part of the Newport community? If so, in which building do you live?

Sonia,

Are there any special events for the tenants? Any giveaways? I don't see anything on the schedule. :(

hmm it IS very odd.. some apt complexes in considered nice/luxury neighborhoods actually DO things for their tenants. i've seen welcome doormats provided when you first move in. another example, i've seen flyers being sent out actually thanking the tenants for their x-number of years anniversary.. NO LIE. i've also seen frequent surveys being sent asking for feedback on the rental ammenities etc. do we even have any "luxury" amenities as we pay "luxury" rent and parking prices.. there's nothing luxury about the TOA. seriously. built very cheaply.. from the walls to the cabinets.. location is probably the only reason why we're here..

Is it just me or do other residents of the Thomas Jefferson building also dislike the huge banners put on the TJ building to "celebrate" 20 years of Newport?

I dislike these banners - maybe if they had put some more tasteful signs/installations around the area at human eye level.

I agree with you -- these banners are very poorly done. Looks like they just created them in Word. I think they used the Comic Sans MS font for the text, and they also managed to stretch it vertically -- a terrible touch... I don't know what the person responsible for designing these huge banners was thinking. I would be ashamed to have something like that plastered on the buildings. On a related note, Newport websites (newportnj and shoreclub) annoy me as well. They are so useless, never get updated and are 100% Flash.
