East Hampton elevator

There appears to be something wrong with one of the elevators at the East Hampton. There is a LOUD rattling sound as if the cables are old or something. This increasingly annoying sound persisted all night long and I hope it gets fixed today so we don't have to go through it again tonight! You will hear it most if your apt is next to or across from the elevator.

You will hear it most if your apt is next to or across from the elevator.Yesterday on the way down in the easternmost elevator (the one with sliding doors fore and aft) I and one other occupant were startled by a noise that began as we passed the 4th floor and persisted almost until we reached the lobby. I meant to mention it to the doorman but he was nowhere in sight... Renuka, do you happen to know whether anyone in authority has been alerted?

I complained twice and they shut off the elevator for the night. It is meant to be fixed today. It isn't fun to hear that noise INSIDE of one's bedroom all night long and I'd already done it one night after a 13 hour flight! Wasn't gonna go through it a second night in a row and the staff was really very good about trying to get in touch with the elevator repair folks. I just think they were told it can't be fixed before Monday ... but they shut off that elevator for the night. I hope it gets fixed today ...
