OK. I live in the Lincoln.
It rained real hard the other day and our floors have bubbled up!! It doesn't seem to be the a/c since we haven't turned it on for several days. But the wall under the windows are stained and the water seems to have seeped in from the outside into our walls and finally onto the floor. This is all around the window areas only. So anyone have this problem? I can't believe this! How the hell did they build this apt? Is it just mine?

I live in the George Washington and this has happened a couple of times in my place. It seems to happen when the weather changes or if there is a lot of humidity. You have to get the maintenance guy to put in new tiles. However, the new tiles won't match the old ones. They are a lot lighter in color.

It hasn't happened to us so far, knock wood.
But there was some kind of tile work being done in the Lincoln in the last day or so because yesterday I saw a whole bunch of empty tile boxes in the refuse room ( as well as a TON of empty beer cans ) - hopefully they weren't all dropped off by the same person!

mia, are u on the 2nd floor too? kozak i am on the 2nd floor. the super tells me that he has the same problem b/c of the people above him (on the 2nd floor). When they built this building, the super tells me, they didn't fill up the window sill area with the concrete all the way, therefore, there are some holes where the rain will leak into that vacant area and then into our walls, and then finally onto our floor, causing the tiles to bubble up, oh and might i add, stain our walls. (phew! wasn't that a loooong sentence) He says he's going to make damn sure that the Roosevelt won't have these kinds of mistakes. Thing is, he did all the floors and he has to do them again a week after! I'm sure they're fed up. The day he did my apt, he had done 2 others. The dude that lives below me I hear has also had major leakage from my floor! Anyway, I am SOOOOOOO about to move out of here, but I don't know if it'll be worth the move. I don't feel like paying an extra $50 in parking and $150 in rent. That's a LOT of money for a 700 square ft apt., ya know?! But then again, do I really want to have my place look so ****ty when people come over?! Nice furniture does not look nice when your walls look like someone took a leak on them and your floor is bubbled up and stained. also.
Anyway...

That is our next step Mia. We decided if the problem is STILL not fixed. We are complaining complaining complaining.. and asking to be moved to a different unit... on the WATERFRONT that is. They probably won't allow that, but we are planning on complaining at least. We want SOME compensation for all this crap we had to go through.. 3x!! They finished everything.. but I'm not sure how well of a job they did, or if they really nipped the problem in the bud! Hopefully there will be no more leaks.
How do you guys think the managment will respond, if we demand a compensation or wish to be moved to the waterfront ?
