We just got our lease renewal and of course they jacked up our rent by 5%.
We went to the "customer service" center in River Court and tried to negotiate our rent. No luck!

So I was wondering if anyone been able to get them not increase the rent?
Is this a lost cause?

TIA

The buildings have a high occupancy right now. So i think this is a lost cause. I was trying to geta good 2 bedroom at a decent price. No luck. They raised the rent for my 1 bed by 100 bucks.

Someone tell my manager that I need a raise.

I wrote a letter and got $100 off last year. It worked like a charm. Unfortunately I can't find it so I will need to make something else up next month when the renewal comes through ...

Last year was way different from this year. Last year, apartments were still not as occupied as they are now. Most of the buildings were running a month and a half free kind of promotions. No such freebies this year.

LLM,

Don't sign the lease renewal right away. The closer you get to the sign up deadline, the greater you chances of getting the rate decreased. :)

Thats what I am betting on. My lease is due to expire Oct end.

Lost in La Mancha,

You changed your look! I hope this wasn't caused by the shock of the rent rate increase. It appears to have made you age drastically.

Wally was my original choice of icon. Afterall, I do nothing but log on to the NWA forum from work. But then Custom Icons were not available. I think I complained in one of my earlier posts that it could have been a security issue that Sonia was worried about. I suppose Sonia changed her mind ( and Republican convention was over anyway, so anyhow we were safe again :), and just as I read the other post you wrote about changing your avatars to a custom avatar I realized that they were available now, so I went back to my choice of Avatar.

As far as age is concerned, I don't seem to have any chance with Katie Scarlett anyhow. So why bother with looks.
