Does anybody know how I could reach Lefrak or any of his lieutenants?

I want to complain about Garcia.

Don't laugh... I may surprise myself.

Take a look for the contact info by the mailboxes. The Lefrak organization is in Rego Park, Queens.

Send to Charles Mehlman with registered mail and then call him at 718-459-9201. Worked to get things done for me.

Who is Charles Mehlman and what's his relation to us out here?

Ultimately everyone reports up to the Lefrak corporate offices in Queens. Mehlman is a senior VP and participates in many of the tenant association meetings at Lefrak's representative.

I saw Lefrak last week. He was being given a tour of all that sidewalk construction on Pavonia. Maybe you can get lucky and just run into him on the street too. :)

Contact info by the mailboxes? What mailboxes, where?
Teach me how to fish. How did you learn about Mehlman and his telno?

The mailboxes in your building, not outside. Sorry for the confusion. There is some sort of certification next to the mail chute which list Fermin Garcia's contact information as well as Charles Mehlman's. Jamie Lefrak is also taking an active role in the community, if you want to go all the way to the top.

I saw Jaime Lefrak walking around on Pavonia Ave the other day. I was tempted to stop him and ask him to go talk to the rude receptionists in the management office about their attitudes, but was late for something.

Fredo -- can you tell us more about your problem, who wasn't paying attention to it, and what happened once you sent the letter to the VP in Queens?

Might be an education for us. thanks.

When I received my first rent increase, I complained in writing (certified return receipt) to Fermin Garcia. Got the returned signature. Didn't hear from him in 4 weeks. Sent another letter to Charles Mehlman with the original letter to Fermin. Got a nice quick response.

Haven't had many issues with the maintenance or the building since moving in years ago. Nothing to complain about but the heat (we need to start this heating project with Sonia again!). They are pretty prompt in the Southampton building, even on weekends.

I would send all letters registered mail with a return receipt. You'll need to proof of notification for any court appearances.
