T1 questions

How's T1 in Atlantic? Does it worth to order it or dialup would be a better solution (i.e. T1 is very slow anyway).

Is there a setup fee to get started with T1 connection? Is there a contract? Disconnection fee?

Is it shared among floor tenants or the whole building or maybe several buildings :confused:

What are up/down speeds of this T1?

Do you get static or dynamic IP?

Is it possible to host a server with it?

I subscribe to the T1 from newport telecom (NTC) in Pacific bldg

service was good last year but this year its been bad, slow, interruipted internet for the past few months.

they give static IP, they charged a setup fee (dont remember how much), no contract, it is a shared T1 shared in teh building,

they ask you not to setup a server using the static IP

call NTC for more details (they wont charge you for asking info). you can ask them all Qs you have instead of posting on this board.

if you do not use internet that heavily- use dialup else get T1. I pay $45 a month for it. hope this helps
