Got a letter from NTC yesterday regarding new network settings.
As usual I was sceptical about the whole thing.
But I have to say, crossing my fingers, that I haven't had any packets drop.
I am also finally getting "broadband" speed :eeks:.

1. Did everybody gets this letter or was it specific to the Lincoln?
2. How has the connection been behaving since you made the change?

I got the letter too. Only residents in the Lincoln got those. What they did was put the Lincoln building on it's own VPN, which is what it should have been. The problems is still the wifi link to the main line. They will be upgrading the wifi link October 1st. I still think the only solution for the Lincoln is to have a wired connection.

Anyway, we'll see what happens. This info is from the manager at newport telecomm who called me after I left a threatening voicemail.

kozak,

you're still gonna ask for you money back for all the months you didn't use the T1, right?

Just checking

I think the manager decided she HAD to call back everyne.. especially those who filed complaints with the Bureau of Utility Services. When she called me, she had a copy of the complaint right in front of her. So she explained everything.. and told me i'd be issued a refund for those months. We'll see. This morning, it is "high speed" .. whoo hoo. BUT, i'm still getting d/c'ed every 10 minutes for like a second. Copying all my emails and messages before sending it has now become a habit!! Anyway, i think we were finally getting through somewhat to managemenet after all.. If I don't see a change by mid Oct., I want my refund for Sep. During all their testing and stuff (if they really are doing much), we are the ones that have paid the $50. Anyway, we've decided to move to the waterfront when our lease is up. What a headache it's been, since we moved here.. in addition to the t1 problem, both of our a/c's leaked and floors bubbled up, walls had to be repainted.. UGH .. i thought this building was only a couple years old? Back to T1, we'll just have wait and see, unfortunately!

She offered 3 months of refund and to discuss the rest of the refund after October 1st when they will upgrade the WiFi. I'm also waiting till October. I think everyone that has had problems should call as ask for atleast 3 months refund.

although the connection is a tiny "bit" faster, i'm getting d/c'ed more often!! is it just me?

also, shouldn't NTC contact the residents and see if anything changed for "phase 2" ? i think that would only make sense. how else would they know if anything improved.
