View Full Version : When will we Merge the Two Boards

I'm waiting to hear from Prashant, but as far as I know the two main issues still outstanding are:
Absolutely essential: compliance with COPPA, so that the children may use their forum, and
The transfer of data, which I understand Prashant is researching with VBulletin.
It's also my understanding that VBulletin has a feature that will allow everyone to customize the design of the board to their own liking(how it's formatted, and colors, etc...) on their computer, which Prashant needs to activate. We are also looking to design a new logo, but this can wait until after we merge.

People might be more inclined to submit NWA design ideas if there is a prize involved, hint hint.

I would like to suggest a spinning pile of dog poop as the logo. This accurately represents the tendency of the Newport community to complain about everything imaginable. The rotation of the dog poop represents the "what goes around comes around" aspect of life in the community. Finally, the persistent presence of the dog poop on the top of every single web page on the site represents that the members of the community will always be able to find something to complain about.

I would like to propose an evening with Matt as a prize, either at a restaurant of his choice or back at your place setting up VoIP, installing a linux server in your closet and working out which timer you need on the a/c.

Lets have an award for the worst entry too. If he is a male, he is forced to spend an evening with Katie Scarlett. If its a female, she gets Punjabi all to herself for an evening.

A prize is a good idea. Perhaps, dinner for two at one of Newport's restaurants.
You could also consider a Gift certificate.
Maybe, Nic can start a poll.

I think the gift certificate is a good idea. It can be either for the Mall or one of the restaurants.

Easy there, killer. I hadn't posted in days when you posted this.
I know it can't be easy being you. Especially when you have realized that MEN WANT ME, AND WOMEN WANT TO BE ME.
Okay, on a more serious note - I don't remember what I said that set you off, but I'm sure I stand by it. If you want to post the link I'll be happy to refresh my memory and reaffirm my convictions.

Don't worry, LLM is merely, and apty, tilting at windmills.

The gift certificate sounds like a good idea. I'll look into it, and get back to you.
The priority here, however, is COPPA and Data transfer from the old board. I haven't heard from Prashant, but I'll contact vbulletin directly if I don't hear from him soon, as he may be away.

The Bulletin Board is in compliance with COPPA, and children may begin to use their forum.
Only outstanding issue right now is data transfer. I understand from Prashant that this is complicated because it involves creating several customized templates. He has been in and out of town, but we hope to address this matter next week.
